The tactics we’re all seeing – masked/heavily-armed “agents” snatching people off the street and shoving them into often-unmarked vehicles – are immensely stupid or immensely evil.

It is stupid to do it this way because it is not necessary to do it this way. It is gratuitous – and that is politically stupid.
If the desire is to deal with the problem of illegal aliens accessing taxpayer-financed government services, then it’d be much more effective – as well as right – to just cut off the services to people who have no legal right to them because they have no legal right to be in this country.
Trump loves to issue edicts. Well, why not issue an edict that requires proof of citizenship as a mandatory condition of receiving any taxpayer-financed services? Including “free” government schools. Require parents of every kid attending a government school to show proof of citizenship in order for their kids to be allowed to attend the local government schools – so that the local citizens aren’t subsidizing the education of illegal aliens via the property taxes they’re forced to pay. Is that unreasonable?
American citizens are required to show ID to buy cough syrup. 
Make it a major financial crime for any employer to get caught hiring illegals. Bill them for the cost of the “services” provided by American taxpayers.
None of this would require masked/heavily armed “agents” Hut! Hut! Hutting! on American streets. Put another – more important – way, none of this would entail Americans getting used to the sight of masked/heavily armed “agents” Hut! Hut! Hutting! on America’s streets. This is something at least as dangerous as the normalization of seeing “masked” American citizens on American streets. It is a demoralizing sight. The sort of thing you see in sick, authoritarian societies. If you have ever been to a Third World country, you know all about it. As a child, I went to Mexico often because my uncle and his family lived there. I remember being startled by the sight of federales toting military-issue rifles patrolling the streets. I had never seen such a thing in America.
Americans are seeing it now. That is the evil part. They are becoming used to the sight of masked/heavily armed “agents” – as if this were a normal thing, in America. Of a piece with seeing people “masked up” at the supermarket. That has also been normalized. Before 2020, such a sight would have caused most people to assume they were seeing a mentally ill person. They still are seeing them – just pretending it’s not mental illness.
Now they’re seeing masked/heavily armed “agents” in American cities – and getting used to seeing it.
Trump claims that something in the vicinity of 75,000 illegal aliens have been rounded up so far. At that rate, around 300,000 will have been rounded up by 2028. It is a mere rounding error in context of the estimated 10 million illegals that have entered the country since “Joe Biden” opened the border back in 2021. It amounts to next-to-nothing, in other words – if the object of the exercise is to purge the 10 million (it is probably many more than that) who poured into the country during the “Joe Biden” era.
Therefore, it makes no sense – the ugly visuals of these masked/heavily armed “agents” Hut! Hut! Hutting! America’s streets. Unless the purpose is to get Americans used to the Hut! Hut! Hutting! That is an explanation that makes sense. It particularly explains the ugliness of what we’re seeing. It is the main point of the whole operation. The flowering American police state wants Americans to be cowed and demoralized. It is of a piece with the purposely degrading rituals Americans have been forced to submit to if they want to travel by airplane. The stated reason for the TSA and the crotch-feeling, hands-up scanning and rifling through people’s personal effects is to terrorize Americans, not to catch “terrorists.” Part of that effort includes getting Americans to demand that Americans be terrorized – to “keep them safe.”
This is what the Hut! Hut! Hutting! is all about. It is meant to provoke chaos and violence on American streets, which will – in turn – prompt many Americans to demand American streets by patrolled by masked/heavily armed “agents” demanding their “papers.”

I followed that story to youtube to read the comments, as I often do… Several mentioned MADD as being behind a lot of this. If not behind it, they’re certainly a big part of it.

The whole thing is absurd – because (for one thing) ability varies. A person who is an excellent, highly skilled driver is still a much better (safer) driver with a few beers in him than a person who is barely competent to drive when sober. This is such an obvious truth, yet it is denied – because one size must fit all. So instead of requiring evidence that a person’s driving is impaired – such as erratic driving – the only evidence that’s required to convict a person of being “drunk” is that they had been drinking.

I also don’t want to have to ask the federal government if I can hire someone, much in the same way I don’t want to ask them for permission to buy a firearm. Also, is those people are employed, they’re working and possibly paying taxes as well. The true problem is parasitism.
I don’t think all employers should face financial sanctions for hiring “illegal” help. Only large corporations. Ones that operate under the corporate charter and who gain tremendous absolute advantage in benefits availed from participation in the financial or private equity markets. They should pay dearly. The average small business with fewer than 10 individual owners should not pay a got darned thing

Recognizing human nature for what it is, incentivize the employer to turn them in for a bounty, and then allow them to be hired by the same employer for the same low wage until their indenture is paid off and the ride home they’ve paid for picks them up. Simple, humane, and effective.

What if it’s none of the above? What if the whole thing is a well rehearsed Hollywood charade? By now it should be clear to everyone how fake and gay this is. Just as cutting off the NGO/USAID money, and punishing employers that hire illegals would restrict these people, if not end them, there is another very easy solution to this back and fourth kabuki, with vaporous cries of coming civil war.

Postscript: Warrants come in two flavors, administrative and search warrants. Administrative warrants (which ICE uses) do not give them the right to enter private property even to pursue a suspect, while arrest warrants do allow for entry on to private property. ICE is routinely kicking down doors and in some cases going house-to-house, both practices which are totally illegal and unconstitutional for administrative and warrants.
As much as I don’t want to see it, ICE and other law enforcers are going to see physical pushback and outright attacks by those aggrieved. They will have to grow eyes in the backs of their heads…not good.

This is why I have a hard time trusting the police, even when they are engaged in legitimate law enforcement like deporting illegals. I agree that GovCo at all levels should be banned at any level of providing aid or comfort to illegal aliens. Since the courts have ruled that hospitals can’t refuse to treat anyone at the emergency desks and schools are required to teach anyone regardless of citizenship; what do you do?
I suggest that going after the businesses that hire them would be the best solution. Give them nothing, don’t let them earn anything. Arrest them for crimes they commit and have Joe Arpio run the prisons they will be sent to.

That bit about courts ruling that hospitals can’t refuse treatment has always annoyed me. A doctor has every right to offer his services for free. He has no right to make me or you pay for the services he chooses to provide.
What people who have no experience with hiring don’t understand is it’s not just EMTALA (hospitals must treat and stabilize regardless of ability to pay) but while employers are legally required to hire only citizens and those with valid work permits, it is also illegal to ask a potential hire to prove either. Both local prosecutors and federal Equal Opportunity persecutors are much more committed to going after employers who do ask. Bizarrely, if you do use E-Verify to check a potential hire, the employer is legally responsible for errors in their database.
Also, welfare programs are state-run and federally subsidized. States refuse to stop the fraud because they get paid per head. We’ll see if the courts let Trump stop payment to jurisdictions with known fraud. My guess is they will tell him he can’t do that. He has to keep funding the fraud.

A good and well meaning idea and this will work in Republican dominated cities but will never work in cities dominated by Democrats. The Democrats control almost all major cities. They have made it against the law to ask questions of legal or illegal status. Their claim is that “all children deserve an education”.

All federal funding should be cut off for these programs if the states want to do it, then do it. Unfortunately it takes congress to act but they won’t. Haven’t heard Massie or Paul suggest defunding Medicaid, SBA or snap. So you will end up with a strong arm effort, this will escalate.

The only question is which police state we will have. Most people want one, anyway. Without an ICE-based police state, we will face an IRS-based police state on steroids where everyone who works for a living is presumed guilty and must prove their innocence. I know which I’d prefer.
We are in a police state, you are policed, I don’t like it, I don’t want it, but it is here. Everything in life has trade offs. The police supposedly to protect us from criminals. I honestly don’t know what to do to roll it back or how that transitions into a system that stops crime. You have to get 90% of the population to accept property rights and liberty.
I was broken during Covid, arguing with so many people, data didn’t matter, rights didn’t matter the nut bags would yell at you in stores. My state passed laws to ban me from public places. I dreaded going to meetings at work because the small talk was basically how I should be locked up. Same people months before swore they would never take Trumps vaccine. These people are middle class NPCs. Until a something blows up their life they won’t have a thought. Even then most will blame you.
Personally, I moved to rural TN from rural Oregon to escape and stop funding them. I try to escape the system where I can. I raise some of my own food, do things myself when I can, homeschool the kids, etc…

That ripple effect would be HUGE in that even Joe the local contractor would be no longer risk picking up Jose outside the Home Depot. But the donors to BOTH parties would never allow that to happen.
