Apparently, it is “suspicious” to wait for a ride to work… standing outside your own place:

A Michigan Hero spotted Tim Wagner standing outside his house, waiting for a ride to work. The Hero demanded ID and began to interrogate the “suspect.”

Welcome to East Germany…

The Hero says (drum roll) “he’s just doing his job” and that “he has the right to stop anyone until I determine you aren’t doing anything illegal.”

Really?

The law – a technicality, I realize – requires probable cause that someone has committed a crime or is about to commit a crime before a Hero may legally detain anyone and demand ID.

A Hero’s “suspicion” – which can be anything – isn’t sufficient. It amount to “I don’t like the way you look.”

Then again, that’s the real law in America/East Germany today.
